Journal 6
When it came to grammatical errors I found it difficult to improve upon what I already knew. I knew to space my writing out and allow the reader to breath when taking in information, and to reread my work to ensure a smooth transition from sentence to sentence but my writing still needed work. About half way through the semester I hadnt seen much improvement on my sentence level revision so I downloaded grammerly onto my computer. One thing that I’ve found very useful is grammerly’s ability to show me synonyms for words I’m trying to replace.
As I stated previously my integration of quotes needed improvement in my first essay I hadn’t left the authors name and page number in the correct order.
“Obama would be crowned king of the world, then lead every nation in war against Israel (9).”
Example from essay 1
That changed in my later works as I managed find a pattern in my writing
“It does not resonate properly to the effects of our actions on groups of people” (Bloom, 2).
Example from essay 3
As you can see the quote is separate from the authors name and the page number but its still in the same sentence. This made my writing more uniform and formal keeping my readers engaged in my work.
I also spent much more time rereading my work, this allowed me to catch more sentence level issues. As I went through my papers I changed words and caught areas where I was babbling so I added a period or comma to give the reader a break. This helped my papers be more clear which is very important to the writer.
