This post spoke to me particularly, I noticed that ST. Croix was not trying to push their product line very hard. Rather this post shows to me that the company is being thoughtful of the environment. This is a striped bass, my favorite fish to catch. Their reproductive cycle is rather slow in comparison to smaller schooling fish and therefore they are heavily regulated. For a fish to become this large it must survive nearly twenty years in the open ocean foraging for themselves. ST. Croixs comment mentions starting the fall season off on the right note. For many fishermen this is a last ditch effort before we get shut in for the winter, unable to enjoy the warm weather and big fish. Because this large fish was caught, other fishermen, including myself, want to make a last ditch effort of their own to land a giant. These large fish can’t be harvested however because of the strict regulations which ST.Croix emphasized by saying #CatchAndRelaese.
