  1. Three Questions from interviewee:

Am I responsible for making changes to the UNE Student Handbook or should I simply report any weaknesses or changes that would make the product less desirable?

What are the hours that I am going to be expected to work since I am expected to be punctual?

What counts as a sales position? Can I have worked as a shelf stocker at hannafords?

  1. Life Events For Consideration:

My decision to go to a college prep school, Sturgis Charter, for high school and leave hockey in my past was not only one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make but the most influential decision I’ve ever made. I loved hockey. It meant the world to me, I knew that I had another good year or two left but Sturgis didn’t have a hockey team so my career as a hockey player was coming to a quick end. As a fifteen year old I had to decide if I want to take my academic career seriously, or do I want to try hard in hockey for another four years and hope it gets me into college.

An event that happened rather recently is a good example of my ability to function under pressure. My friends and I were fishing on Cape Cod where I live, we hooked something large and managed to reel it in all the way to the jetty we were fishing off of, it was a shark. We managed to wrangle the fish all the way on top of the rock and as we were releasing the fish it thrashed and bit one of my friends. Although the bite was not life threatening it was large. I used the first aid kit I had in my bag to bandage him up slowing the blood loss and rushed him to the hospital.

On Cape Cod where I live the fishing culture is very diverse and everyone including people who have migrated to the United States fish. I would often have customers come into West Marine and ask me for help using English that I couldn’t understand or none at all. I got around this problem by implementing strategies like google translate and text to speech to communicate with those that weren’t able to speak english.

  1. Three questions from interview committee:

How can you make an improvement to the Fantastic Team Five family?

What are some things that you need to improve upon professionally, for example spreadsheets, powerpoint, excel?

What is the best way to describe your work ethic?

  1. Non Inclusive Language/Off Putting Phrasing:

General job description, major responsibilities, and minor responsibilities were all wordy and over described. Specific responsibilities were over described but at the same time I feel that there were parts of the responsibilities that were missing, more could be said. An example would be the responsibility of a professional social media, it doesn’t need to be explained. We know what a social media account, that is P.G. and professional, should look like.
